It is the existence that seems to be able to be called the pronoun of Borneo Island, but, as for the wild orangutan, there are few numbers, and it is the present conditions that we cannot readily meet you because the habitation area is far from the Kota Kinabalu city area.
The baby of the orangutan becomes the pet because of the loveliness. And there is some case becoming an orphan under the influence of child neglect of mother or deforestion. It is the orangutan rehabilitation center in the Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort that perform training to let the baby of the orangutan which became such an orphan leave naturally. It cooperate with Sepirok Orang Utan rehabilitationin Center in Sandakan and protect the orang utan of Sabah. It is only this protection center or Lokkwi Wilde life center that we can observe the orangutan around Kota Kinabalu area.
You can observe the feeding time performed twice a day on the platform in the place where 15 minutes walk from the entrance.
Before the feeding time, there is the video viewing which settled the present conditions of the orangutan, the activity of the Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort. In addition, the orang utan related goods are sold there. When you buy them, a part of the sales will be use with the orang utan protection.

How to get there?

It takes 45 to 60 minutes by car from the Kota Kinabalu city area.
You go to Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort by Taxi, it cost around RM80 per way.
